John

No still in the garage, price reduced to £3500

Thanks David.
Has it had the Roller Tappet conversion done?

John

I thought it was only the 8 valve engines that suffered from flat tappet problems, or is this an 8 valve bike?

As I understand it cams and followers were replaced by Baldrick, but roller cams not fitted. I religiously used recommended Agip oil (ordered from Hoddesdon) but oil very gloopy so used a thinner oil in recent years. Think main problem was oil takes a long time to get up to cylinder heads - two went over to Vietnam with my purchase and they have never had any problems.

Have put it on market place, contact details now available.

All Stelvios are 8V Engines (4 Valves per Head), there were no 4V Stelvios produced.
Guzzi didn’t help things by calling the first model a 4V, to differentiate it from the 1200 2Valve (per Head) predecessors, so the confusion is understandable.

It’s a 15min job to physically check if the Rollers have been fitted, you just need to lift one of the Valve Covers.
