I have a problem with the small plastic quick release connector that connects the fuel pipe to the fuel pump on a Stelvio. The end cap of the fuel pump is white plastic and has a slotted cup molded into it. This cup appears to accept a black plastic fitting that is pressed into the rubber fuel pipe. This black plastic fitting has small plastic lugs that, I think, grip onto the slots in the slotted cup. It is two of these lugs that have broken off and the connection is leaking petrol. Does anyone know if this fitting is available as it is not shown in the parts book?
I recall there was a string on one of the forums talking about this, or a similar, fitting that was available from Ford dealers. Maybe that is what I am after.
If there are no parts available ids there another way to solve the problem? ie another method of attaching the pipe to the pump.
Hello Phil
Sorry that I cannot help myself, but I do recall similar issues being discussed in the MG Stelvio thread on the ADV rider forum (advrider.com).
Thanks Andy and David for the replies. After much digging I have been able to find the part needed.it is not mentioned in the parts book hence the difficulty finding it. For information it is part number GU 01106692. they are around 8 euros and available from Teo Lamers and elsewhere. I’ve ordered a couple of spares as they are so easily damaged having a couple in stock cant be a bad thing.
Had to virtually destroy the one on my 09 Stelvio.
Same issue, locking tabs missing/distorted.
Threw it in the Bin where it belongs, and fitted a Metal QD Fuel Fitting instead, along with a longer Hose.
I can now lift the Tank, and sit it on the Airbox Lid to access the top of the Engine, without disconnecting, if required.

Could you provide details of the metal QD fitting you used? Many years ago I had a QD connector fitted to my Aprilia Caponord which came from Tom Parker Ltd.
