Thought I’d provide a quick bit of feedback on the Givi Screen ( D8208ST) made specifically as a replacement touring screen for the new Stelvio. Having just been down to Mandello and back I have to say it has been excellent - in the low position there is little turbulence and in the full height position there is clear air and little noise at motorway speeds. I’m 5’11’’ and in the higher position you need to look through the screen but on the motorway I didn’t find this a problem in the dry - the lower position still allows you to look over the screen with minimal noise. My top half remained remarkably dry even in torrential downpours as long as forward momentum was maintained.
So just for feedback as I know replacement screens are quite personal.
I have also fitted the Givi screen to my new Stelvio. I had to modify it so as to clear the PFF radar unit. The original screen was not bad, but I always had it in the raised position and that left a gap which rain came through.
Love the bike.
I still have the standard screen on my Stelvio. It works well for me, but I am concerned about the rattling when it’s in the up position. Anyone got experience at fixing that?
Hi Barney, have to say I haven’t had rattle on either the original or the Givi screen - can you work out where the sound is coming from - the mounts or the motor unit ?
I have the same screen rattle that Barney has mentioned. For me the rattle quite clearly comes from the spindly arms that make up the screen raising/lowering mechanism. The joints have a lot of play in them and they rattle. It’s the one area of my lovely Stelvio that I think should have been better engineered. I thought at first that my screen mechanism must have somehow been damaged but I’ve seen the same issue on other Stelvios. I’m not in the habit of raising and lowering my screen often, so for me the solution will be fixing or replacing the mechanism in the optimal screen position.
The Givi screen is taller than the original. I only have it in the lowest position. There is still a little rattle, but nowhere as much as before. With the original screen I had it in the highest position all the time and it rattle bugged me.
