Did it damage the engine?
Hmm,I don’t think so I’ve been using the bike for a few months, oil pressure ok,no nasty noises,I’ve just replaced the original sump for a larger one (1100) so glad i dropped it.

for me, this is an excellent example of why (for instance) one should immediately do certain things to any bike new to one’s ownership, like: dump the oils and refill immediately with the right oil, in the right amounts, down the right holes.
