I’m stuck in sunny Spain and my '76 T3 Cali has stopped charging. looking for a fault finding guide or the relevant chapter in Guzziology (Chapter 18 is missing from my .pdf version). Can anyone please help.
Gracias,
Sam
Not very good with technology, so don’t know how to send things , but if you google John Noble charging round the circuit it will certainly be helpful. Cheers.

There’s a testing diagram for checking generator output kicking around somewhere online - will post if it comes to me. This assumes you have a multimeter and know how to use it. I fail on both accounts.
Edit, oh. In here? https://www.gutsibits.co.uk/pr/TheShed/techdocs.php
Hi when you say not charging ! is the charge warning light on and not going out? if so thats likely a generator brush issue or failure of the rectifier! or a wiring issue! less likely the regulator!.
worn brushes usually comes on slowly with the charging lamp glowing at revs higher than usual (above tickover for example! ) a broken wire/connector failure/ diode in rectifier failure is more often sudden!.
If the charging light is NOT coming on with the ignition& therefor the bulb has failed then that stops the current flow and it wont charge until the bulbs replaced!.
hope you get sorted quickly!.
Thanks Steve. Got hold of the relevant guzziology and am working through that.
Will probably end up trying to reexcite the rotor.
Blown fuse can cause the same symptoms.
Many thanks for all your help. Problem now solved after browsing Guzziology and chatting to Baldrick. Improved earth on the rectifier and reenergising the rotor cured it.
Result! And a Brucey Bonus for coming back to share the outcome and the solution… so many don’t.
