T3 gubbins in carb

My T3 is running on one cylinder only. There appears to be. A a fuel supply problem and when I stripped the carb I found the bowl is full of gubbins. What’s the best way of cleaning it all out.? (I’ve taken the jets out and cleaned them)

if you have any spray carb cleaner agitated with a toothbrush works well, or as an alternative some white vinegar and bi carb of soda is also good.

Ethanol in fuel attracts water and leads to all sorts of corrosion crud.
If you ever leave e10 fuel in the tank and float bowls that will crud it up inside 4 months

Thanks to both. That’s very helpful.

It would also be worthwhile checking the fuel filters attached to the petrol taps in the fuel tank. These should stop most bits getting into the carbs. There are also filters where the banjos attach to the carbs.
I use a footpump with a fine nozzle in it to blow through all the carb drillings and some very fine wire (old guitar strings are great) to poke through all the holes.

You could also use an ultrasonic cleaner with dedicated carb cleaning fluid works really well but everything has to be fully stripped down and off the bike for best results. And if at all possible dont use that E10 garbage they pass off as fuel

Thanks Don-spada and Kerno68.
I intend to check the tap filters before putting it all back together, with new fuel (I suspect the root problem is that the bike has not been used much in the last yearend the fuel in the tank is quite old)
I have poked through most of the drillings, but I will do it again before assembly.

Check the accelerator pump inside the main jet tube. That gets filled with crud, there should be a small plastic ball inside that rattles. It’s the bit in the middle in this photo. I couldn’t get mine apart so just poked through the small holes to clean it up.
