Here is a photo of my late father navigating in a rally in the 1950’s, the driver was Paul Stiener. I don’t think the navigator is concentrating on the map reading!

Not sure about the car, he used to rally Renault 750’s and Dauphins which were rear engine cars like the one in the photo appears to be, but it is neither of those. It could be Eastern European? The photo was taken at Torbay.
