The "Where Am I?" thread

Cearnóg an Mhargaidh, Market Square, Dunlavin, Co. Wicklow, IrelandBuilt in 1743 Architect: Richard CasselsThe market house was built around 1743 and designed by Richard Cassels. Originally a cruciform building, the corners are filled by colonnades. All the archways have now been closed up, as the building is in use as a library. This is all capped by a magnificent stone tower and dome.

Well done How did you work that one out?

The Market House was used as a courthouse and fire station for many years. Luckily it’s mainly constructed of stone as the heater used to keep the fire engine’s motor warm in winter caused a potentially catastrophic fire. Following that it was converted into the library.

Over to you Cabernet

MMM Looks suspiciously like a road I know near Burnley
near the swinging singing scrap metal tree thingy at Crown point
A place of some ill repute unless you really do have a dog to walk there !!Noel2013-03-24 00:42:09

Well you are noteably warmer. However you are the wrong side of the M65. As for http://www.burnley.gov.uk/site/scripts/documents_info.php?documentID=1053&categoryID=200128&pageNumber=4I will have to look out this landmark for another motorcycle forum tag challenge.

A guess then haslinden tops up off Grane Road

You are still on the south side of the M65, which is wrong.

This used to be an old bike shop and Guzzi dealer.

Hmmm…looks like…

Yes, definitely.

…a fishing tackle shop in Cappoquin

Yes, correct. The irish place name was a dead give away wasn’t it?!
Its the post office actually and fishing tackle shop. I bought a Zigolo 110 from a chap down that way a few years ago and he mentioned this used to be an old bike shop. It was cool to still see the Guzzi sticker in the window above the door.
Over to you…

yes, thanks for leaving that there, helped a lot - Cappoquin is one of the few towns in Ireland that I have no memory of, probably because I’ve never been in it

Here’s some more scenery for yiz
