1995 California 3 1100 Carbed version.
The Trip reset knob is missing?? it does NOT look like its broken off, so, can I get a replacement knob and if so, from where?
I bought the bike without this knob and I kind of want it really.

Lost the same from my 1000SP, and made a Heath Robinson solution, since that is not a āspare partā (as far as I could tell). One of the speedo repair outfits might be able to help you - search this forum for āspeedoā maybe?
Ok my man, I will have a look and see what comes of it!
I got this part from gutsibits for my le mans. Not sure if it will fit your bike. It just screws on . Part number, HAA19810.
HA, LOL Just looking, and I checked out and I found this one
HAA28860
This one just happens to be twice the ruddy price, however, it DOES seem to be what I am missing and so, I will definitely buy it.
I have found a tiny little plastic bit thingy that absolutely looks like the original knob, however, it definitely is NOT it.
So, many thanks⦠It says its out of stock, but I will try to see if I can get it⦠I hope it is all I need???
If āout of stockā I would personally recommend using the phone and talking to a person, rather than just ordering online and wondering when if it might turn up. Either that, or find the actual Guzzi part number and get on the Bay of E.
Oh I agree, but there is an option to inform me when they are in stock.
They also have used too for a tenner but they are also out of stock.
Looking at it, it looks kind of like a long pin with a female thread at the end, that fits onto a small bolt/screw?
My clock only goes in about quarter inch and then there is ( I assume ) a sort of flap.
I have NOT prodded it too much, however the little plastic thing that I thought was the knob, is flimsy and thin plastic and it goes through the flap and all the way in ( about an inch and a half ) withotu bending the plastic pin.
I did say that I have not prodded too much in case I break something that I didnt need to⦠I am the sort of IF IT AINT BROKE, DONT FIX IT person, and I am that through being the opposite and learning the financially difficult way!
But yeah, looked on armarzun and on the bay but not found anything yet.
Is this what you are looking for. If its the same as an 1100i, I think I have a spare one.
Yes you are correct. It just screws onto a threaded peg inside the speedo. Just push it in and turn to zero the trip.
someone with a 3d printer could probably make these
I have used Officine08 - they have a lot of Guzziparts
I have a 3D Printer. They wont⦠They will be too brittle for good proper functioning.
They will require a very very fine thread too, and that is not really possible on a 3D printer, but I do see that maybe it might be possible with a high end printer maybe, but not mine.
Ok I have just bought this from them.
Ā£16 posted from Italy, so I hope that its both Genuine and quick, and of course, the correct part LOL
Thanks.
A word of caution when you fit it.
The ratchet mechanisms in the number wheels are quite fragile and can easily be disloged if you push or pull the knob shaft. If this happens then youāre into opening up the speedo which is whole new bag of pain.
Yes, apparently so!
I did read, that if such a thing happens, the only proper way to rectify it, is to buy a new unit
I am not sure about that, but I will not be risking it, thats for sure?
I am, or rather was accepting that I just wont have a trip guage, and so I was going to accept that fact, but of course I do really want one, to help me keep an eye and calculate the Fuel consumption. I am not one bit happy so far with the fuel economy on this bike.
On the 950 Carbed Cali 3, I was able to get roughly 222 miles on a tank.
I know this because we used to go to the Red House in Cambridge ( well, near there ) and from the cafe that we met up and started off from, to the pub, was exactly 222 miles.
The weird thing, is that I went there a good 10 times or so, and if I dropped my camping gear off first and then went to the garage, it would conk out within 50 feet of the Fuel station, but, if I went straight there to fill up, it would make it⦠This happened 3 times and so that made me think that the fuel consumption was so spot on, and that I absolutely must have taken each and every corner pretty much on the very same line every time, for it to be that close 3 times out of 10?
Anyway, this bike is easily doing half that!
I fiiled it up this morning, did a quick run around Anglesey and I did just over 100 miles and on checking the tank, its almost empty!
Thats really really poor. So, a trip reset might just help me out a bit on calculating it better.
It may be possible to repair the trip meter, I know because Iāve done it, but itās not easy.
The part arrived this morning.
I just took the missus to work and came home and went to fit it.
I did get a tiny bit worried cos the thing just went all the way in, but I soon felt a sort of pin thing and I did eventually get the thing screwed in⦠Took no more than a few seconds, and then, as I felt it tighten up, I knew it was going onto the screw and finally⦠IT WORKS!!! Thanks bud.
