Tyre pressures, V9 Roamer

My ‘Use + Maintenance’ book for the V9 advises me to check the tyre pressures regularly but doesn’t say what they should be. The only online guidance says 42psi for both tyres, Bobber or Roamer. This seems unlikely, given that the Bobber has a fatter front tyre than thr Roamer. Does anyone know what the pressures for a 2018 Roamer should be?

See page 113 of the user manual, technical data section. It’s all there, it is showing a lot lower than 42psi.

That’s great. Thank you.
On p113 of the printed maintenance book, it tells you what the tread depths should be but nothing about pressures.
The pdf version is miles better!

Cheers.

42 is excessive - it’s more likely max for the make of tyre - what you should do of course, is experiment a bit with varied pressures until you find a combination that works best for you. It’s very subjective, depending on weight, riding style, ambient temperature etc. etc. etc.

E.g., for my AJS Cadwell 125, 33 psi is the official recommendation for both. This is for the OEM Chinese tyres, which I dumped ASAP and put on Metzeler Lasertec. 33 makes them feel too hard, 26f / 28r is a wee bit soft (could hear the tyres squeaking), turns out 28f / 30r is it, pretty much. I weigh about 63 kg and usually have a topbox on with day trip stuff in it, including a toolkit of sorts.

Thanks Mike,
As I said to Don Spada, my paper maintenance guide is lacking in some important areas. Luckily, the pdf version he sent me has all the info I need.

So, I can start safely with the recommended pressures and then, as you suggest, fine tune according to my riding style.
