Hi All i am currently restoring a 1978 SP 1000 and was wodering what the recommended tyres and sizes would be best to fit. Any help greatly appreciated

BT46 tyres work well with Tonti frames. Stick to the sizes specified in the owner’s manual, they work best.

I’ve got Metzeler Lazertecs on my Spada, they seem to work well.
The factory recommendation for tyres is front 100/90 H18 and rear 100/90 H18 but I run a 110 on the rear with no problems.
That’s what I’m looking to buy!

I have used Bridgestone BT46’s and Avon Roadriders on mine - both are very good and seem to suit the bike well.

BT46 std rear is 110 but I tun 120 as BT46s are narrower the nominal 120 at 115mm

personally id favor the metzelers very good straight line stability , good in the wet(predictable!) and wear well- also dont seam to suffer with age related cracking like some other brands mainly Avon!
