Hi folks, I’m looking to fit a NOCO Genius battery charging harness to my V100. I’ve fitted the same harness to my other bikes (Guzzi V7 850 and Laverda Alpino) and it seems to work fine. I put them on charge for about a day each fortnight or so over the winter or if I haven’t used a bike for a while.
For the V7 and the Alpino it was just a case of attaching the harness’s cable-end M6 eyelets to the battery terminals. Is it just the same for the V100? The V100’s battery seems to live under a plastic cover under the rider’s seat and while I haven’t removed the cover it looks screwed on with a couple of small bolts, but I also appreciate that the Mandellos’s electrics are more sophisticated than the V7’s and (especially!) the 1981 Laverda’s.
Thanks,
Jim
I guess you have done this by now, Jim
but, yes, just 2 allen screws hold the plastic tray that covers the battery.
Cheers
I have connected the extra lead to my battery on three bikes, V11 Le Mans, V85TT, and V100 Mandello. I just plug the long-short connector and leave it to charge for a week and then move it to the next bike in sequence, (and then, using the crocodile clips, to each of two spare batteries in turn).
Pardon my ignorance, but I don’t see the point in connecting, disconnecting and rotating a ‘battery charger’. I have used a CTEK charger/conditioner for years on each of my bikes. After each ride I clean my bike and connect it to the CTEK until the next ride - no matter how soon or distant that might be, it’s just become part of the post-ride routine. Am I missing something?
