Hi - hope you can help me with something. I know Mistral say the silencer is compatible with the silencer but I’m struggling to get mine to fit - I’ve just about got it fitted with a minimum 1-1.5 cm gap between the tria silencer and the heat shield on the bottom of the pannier. I see you have the tria fitted with the pannier - how close does the silencer get to the pannier? Oh and good luck with the sale -great price for an awesome bike.
Hi Steve, I can’t comment on the difficulty of fitting the silencer as it was already on the bike when I bought it. I’ve just checked the clearance between the silencer and pannier heat shield and it measures 1.5cm. I’ve taken a couple of photos showing the clearance. Regarding the V100, I think they’re bloody awesome. I’m only parting with it because I bought it for two up touring but my wife prefers my Beemer RT comfort wise. I still have another Guzzi so won’t be abandoning the marquee anytime soon. Hope that helps and safe travels.
Man! That’s a squeaky clean looking back end! I just got my new Road Six’s on today and can’t wait to enjoy them after the Pirellis! That gap looks perfectly fine as it opens out as you go midline. Looking at the tope brackets though looks like you might steal another cm with maybe a little twist on the mid pipe union? Just a thought.
The advert does say it’s in stunning condition, glad you think so too! The Michelin road 6’s really suits the V100, I’m sure you’ll be impressed. I find the clearance between the silencer and pannier ok, I haven’t had any issues but thanks for the feedback.
That’s awesome - looks about the same as mine. I was struggling until I realised the attachment point was adjustable - doh! Many thanks - much appreciated.
You’ll enjoy them for a long time - I’ve got 14k miles on my Road 6’s and it’s just passed the MoT with plenty of life in them yet. That said I’m not going to push my luck!
Yeah I’ve been riding Road series Michelins for close to 15yrs and observing steadily increasing mileage and confidence in them all the way. I bought my Mandello at just under 4k miles with original Pirellis and not impressed. 1000 miles later the front almost done. Maybe a couple more left on the rear.
I am curious to feel the difference in feel and feedback I get as much as the longevity. Despite reading praise from afficionados of Bridgestones, Metzelers, Dunlops etc. over the years which I have replaced as OEM equipment I have never felt 100% comfortable on any of them. I guess individual bikes and riding styles vary but most of the last 40yrs have been on big and heavy Kawasakis with pretty brutal power out puts and over the years seen life expectancy almost treble with little drop off of grip and confidence. For me, Michelin have cracked the code and just keep getting better. 14k on yours is impressive! What bike is that on?
Ha! Purdy!
Love that rear seat contrast! Classy. Mine is just the ‘council TV version’.
I honestly don’t think there is a visually more lovely current machine on the market. It’s a total head turner in my book! Dave
BTW what screen is that you have? Looks pretty tall? I am looking at the Puig before long.
The screen is a Puig. Not sure there’s much of a difference in terms of wind protection from the Powerbronze that I had fitted, but the Puig is thicker and I like the dark tint.
Cool! I don’t really have an issue with wind protection as such but I do find at full extension I am catching bugs right on my visor! Rather have them blast over the top. ![]()
with road 6 I got a bit over 9k on a rear, it had some left and I might have got 10k but I changed it, maybe 1.5mm left.
I usually get just over 8k per set with other tyres so I was impressed to get 9k, kept the front on and got a new rear. front has 4 or 5 mm left.
Yeah, back in the day with the big Kwak I was lucky to get 4k out of a rear and changed two rears for every front. Last several years got to only needing to switch in pairs with 8k upwards. Hoping with the Mandello 10k a pair should be reasonably expected? We shall see if I last as long as the tyres?? ![]()
With other tyres I’ve inherited on bikes I find the big difference with the Roads is that nice, chunky offset and deep pattern on the fronts? Others mainly seem to have more cicumferential grooves and not as deep which does not feel reassuring to me. Maybe that’s just me though?
