V100 Panniers

I am camping with my V100. The weather is hot. I now find that I can partially lock my panniers ( Guzzi) but am unable to fully rotate the key in the pannier locks in order to remove the key. Do you think this is due to expansion in the sun. Has anyone had similar experience. Panniers currently in the shade hopefully cooling down. Any ideas?

I went touring on mine last year, in temperatures up to 40C, and didn’t have a problem with the pannier locks. Can’t offer any advice, unfortunately. Are you sure nothing has got stuck/trapped in the lock (not intending to be patronising, it’s just the sort of thing that would happen to me)?

Yes. Silly as it sounds, try rotating the key 180 deg. and trying again. They get better over time. Oh, and they will start to rattle.

A shim made out of pushbike inner tube and double sided tape in the rear socket does the trick.

Pannier problem sorted. The key/lock barrel had rotated slightly as a result of loose securing nut. Rapidly sorted FOC by Teasdale’s who retightened and used locktight on the nut. Excellent service again.
Thanks for comments and suggestions.
