V100 RPM Idle speed 1,500 RPM

I have a 2024 V100s bought in June 2025. Great bike. I have ridden just over 5000Km on it. I have discovered that if I hold the clutch leaver all the way to the handle bars the RPM drops to 1,500 or below whether in 1st gear or in neutral and it stays there when I let the clutch out (in neutral of course). I have tried this out in all types of traffic and it always works. No more high revving and embarrassing feelings when I stop. Has anybody else found this way of cutting the revs down? Mick. Oddly or not, I have not been especially aware of an annoyingly high tickover. Shrugs. Also the rev counter display is so damn small I actually pay almost no attention to it. It’s pretty worthless honestly. Course that is at least partly my short sightedness. The engine is so flexible I tend to moderately short shift. It’s an interesting beast for sure.

Yes. 14k on mine., however, the high tickover wasn’t there when the bike was new, it’s got higher as the miles increase, due it’s 15k miles service soon so hopefully it’ll go back down after that. I’ll mention it to dealer.

Mine has had the 2000rpm tick over since I picked it up in June 2025. It sounded like it was an old carb bike with the choke on. Now using the clutch leaver it drops to 1500 or a bit lower. It must be saving some fuel.
