I thought it wise to check tappets after the last run. My manual for Mk 1 V35 says inlet 0.10 and exhaust 0.15. I notice a later Imola model is inlet 0.15 and exhaust 0.2
Does anyone know the reason for the extra clearance?
Isn’t the Imola a 4 valve per cylinder model?

Yeah, so you can hear from behind the corner, a Guzzi is coming. I’d say the reason is: they found original gaps were not enough! Old manuals say 80W90 in bevel drive, and if you follow that advice, you’re asking for trouble. We all use thicker oil140 and problem usually is solved. So don’t take manuals as a Bible. Luigi makes mistakes too:)
