Some of you will already know this but I discovered last week that big end (conrod) nuts and bolts are no longer available. Harris at Gutsibits said they haven’t seen the self-locking nuts since 2013 and Stein-Dinse haven’t seen either of them since 2018 (I think whoever it was I was speaking to said 2018 anyway. I can be corrected on that one). I haven’t been able to find a replacement nut but maybe one of you have?
I have in the past successfully used a high-strength Loctite on reused self-locking nuts but I stress, that was successful for me. I hate messing with the bottom end of engines when I have to reuse parts.
