What sort of range should I be getting from full to reserve and then how much should reserve give me?
1979 V50ii
Long time since I had it in regular use, but best thing is, you have three warnings: it starts to splutter, left tap(you keep it closed normally), turn ON. Quite a couple of miles, it starts to splutter again, left tap, into RES. Same story again after another couple of miles, right tap into RES. And then… something like 5-8 miles till dry. You know how I know?
I usually reckon on about 140 miles from full to reserve on my my 1980 V50ii, and then about 20 miles from reserve to pushing – a surprisingly short reserve range, and I have ended up pushing it a few times! Having said that, I am running with RamAir foamies and bigger jets, so am probably at the higher end of the fuel consumption continuum.
