I have just bought a V50 Monza. The gearbox breather top cap was broken off and a long pipe had been fitted over the breather body and run to the back of the bike. I changed the gearbox oil (one litre as per the handbook (Halfords EP80W/90)) and replaced the breather with a new component thus removing the pipe. Now the oil comes out of the breather after a short ride. I checked the pawl and spring were present when I changed the breather. Now I am baffled. Any ideas?

break the cap off and fit re fit the length of hose… they all do it… no real fix apart from much later gear box.
guzzi’s offical fix was to put 900ml in … 5 gear wears badly
TLM do a high level breather kit that is really well made but not really better than breaking the cap of the detent spring / breather
