I stripped my starter motor today just to check that all was ok inside and found that one of the spring brackets had broken allowing the spring and the bracket to float around inside.
Fortunately the loose items don’t appear to have done much damage but I now need a replacement complete brush holder plate as the rest of the motor is fine and was working ok prior to me looking inside.
I would be very grateful if anyone has an unserviceable motor which they are prepared to sell or even just a brush holder plate.
My motor is a Bosch (DF 12v .7Kw) PN 0.001.157.016 and may well be fitted to other MG models.
