Hi
i know the Tom Tom Rider green plug and wire still sits near the headlamp unused atm.
Being directed towards quad lock type installation e,g, use my current Samsung phone with anti vibration mount. There doesn’t seem to be a plug and play option. In which case what’s the easiest way to connect all things up? Dealer did have an offer on a Garmin unit. Another option but suspect subscription etc again to keep on top of things.
I’ve searched a bit before the putting this post on. Apologies up front.
Cheers

Posted to correct area this time. Sorry for that.
If it helps - you wrote ‘V7 Mk II’, does it have ‘USB adaptor socket’ (under seat). The V7 Mk III does according to wiring diagram…
I have V7 850 (which also does), it’s a 2-way Superseal connector, so I’ve run a twin lead up under the tank to a dual USB adaptor that clamps on the handlebar. I am currently using an iPhone 11 Pro (waterproof!) with maps.me app for navigation, on a Quad Lock h/bar mount with anti vibration extra. Hence phone can be powered by the bike.
By the way altho wiring diagram says USB power socket, it is NOT 5V, but battery Voltage, 12V+. Hence need for an adaptor -

I also have the V7 850 and got the official Guzzi USB socket that stays under the seat. I ran a silicon charge cable (1.2m seems the perfect length) zip tied to the frame but again tucked under the tank as much as possible - it’s actually very easy to hide it. Phone attaches via a Quad lock with the anti-vibration mount.
If money were no object I’d buy the QuadLock wireless charging head but it just feels a bit steep at virtually £70. The phone still shakes even with the anti-vibration mount and it’s not just a V twin thing, it did so on my Honda 125. Not convinced it does a great deal or if phone cameras really are that delicate?
My understanding was the antivibration extra prevents or limits shock vibration, which apparently damages the camera on later iPhones (and maybe others). Wobbling about is fine!

i got a wireless charging head because the cable kept falling out on my old phone. they are worth the money, wish i bought it sooner.
regarding the anti vibration mount, apparently these are only needed on phones that don’t disengage the camera stabiliser, older iphones. if you have a newer phone you can hear the stabiliser clicking on and off as you activate camera/turn it off. these are not vulnerable to having it broken since its not floating/moving when riding.
i have an anti vibe pad and seems it wobbled less with the wireless charging head than before but then i got a new heavier phone and it does wobble a bit now
