V85 issues since service

2023 E5 had 12 month service at 4100 miles.
Always use E5 petrol.
Since service, bike is difficult to start when cold - sort of asthmatic and erratic tickover. Blipping throttle causes stalling. Settles down after a couple of minutes and seems to run fine.
Also, when filled to brim, shows range of c 240 miles when previously would show and do 300 + to a tank. App on phone shows economy of mid forties when previously 50 - 70 other than motorways
Trip also showing lower mpg
Filled up last night and it is actually doing mid 60’s as usual in normal riding
Topped up with BP Ultimate rather than Tesco e5 and hoping that might sort it - will keep posted

Anyone had similar experience?

i had engine warning light coming on if i rode on dual carriageways and gave it loads of throttle, then it would not accelerate and go into a low power mode kind of. it was a bad remap/update and dealer fixed it by me taking it back and a newer remap being applied. this was about 2 years ago though so unlikely its the same update applied to yours, but could be a similar cause.

the range remaining changes depending how you ride, mine will actually go up quite a lot if i keep the rpm down to 3k, and speed to about 55-60mph. it can start off showing 220 and go up to 280 or just over 300 sometimes on a full tank for me. mine is a 2021 with a booster plug fitted and mistral exhaust/decat

Was any software update done at the service? This sounds suspiciously like it was.

Go back to the dealer and ask - or look at your receipts.

No lights coming on and only a problem when starting from cold! Hit starter button and it sort of wheezes and runs very lumpy. I wonder if it was the software update at the service, dealer said only modification was to the tyre pressure monitoring. Weird about the app showing mid 40’s mpg when it is actually doing 60mpg+ as per usual
Have done 70 miles today on BP Ultimate and just showing 46.7 mpg

Worth checking you’re not set to US mpg (if that’s possible)

^^ THIS
Go back to dealer and ask for it to be put back as it was, when it wasn’t ‘broke’ :worried:

EDIT (addendum) I’m so glad I did all my own servicing.

Although not required at that mileage I’d be checking the valve clearances are correct

Check the spark plugs, it could be a loose plug or plug cap. Also check for a loose earth cable on the battery.
