V85 Strada luggage rack

I’m looking at buying a V85 and the Strada seems to make the most sense for a few reasons but I would want the luggage rack and for some reason, it’s not even an option for the Strada. Is it possible to ft one?

I put an SW Motech Adventure rack on my Strada, with an adaptor plate for an SW Motech bag. It does exactly what it’s meant to do, and unbolts quickly when you don’t want it on (for me that’s whenever I’m not touring)

Thanks. That would do the job

Hi Zipper,

I’ve got sw-motech sysbags with the plates on and the adapter kit for the old SLC (think that’s the model) of panniers. This is what I had on my XSR900.

I’m looking to still use the bags to save a bit of money in getting a new touring set up for my 2025 E5+ V85TT.

Do you happen to know what rails you ordered and what you needed to adapt your panniers to the adventure rails.

Looking at the website it looks like ordering the pro rails isn’t a problem. But I don’t want to pay £50 per plate to then convert my bags. Hoping to get away with a kit to change the configuration on the plates I already have fitted on my sysbags.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Cheers

Gabbo

Afraid I can’t help directly - I don’t have any panniers on my Guzzi.

But, I can recommend contacting Alchemy Parts who I bought my rack & bag from, they were very helpful to me, and their speciality is motorcycle luggage.

It seems the luggage rack is available as an option in some countries but for some reason missing from the UK website. According to Fowlers, its available as a spare part and less than £130

Hi Zipper,

I spoke with Roy at Alchemy Parts the other day.

he was really helpful and we found exactly why I needed. I just need to decide if I actually need the panniers etc or if I can get by with just rucksack for now until I go on a long trip. At the minute it wiukd only be used for work. So a bit of an expense.

did the commute last week with a kriega r20 rucksack and a US-10 attached to it. That worked. But longer haul would need the pannier rails.

Have the standard TT rack on mine. Bolts straight on.
