After 50,000 miles the original front discs on my V85tt are looking a bit tired & definitely need replaced. Guzzi discs are back ordered at Gutsibits & anyway I’m sure Guzzi’s are overpriced. I’ve checked EBC, but does anyone have any suggestions for other sources and particular brand alternatives to Guzzi?
I bought my Brembo discs from Italy, as I bought a pair I got clobbered for import duty as it was over the threshold.
Worth a trawl on the Internet.
I bought stainless steel discs and ceramic pads from HMB Moto in Germany for my Tonti frame bike. I’m not sure if they sell them for V85TT but if they do they will be expensive!
It’s brakes. Use oem parts.
I replaced mine with EBC discs because of excessive wear on the bobbins, since then I have replaced the bobbins on the original discs, will go back to them if I ever wear the EBCs out,
I haven’t had a problem with the EBC discs and they weren’t a lot of money, and they have a nice gold carriers.
Cast iron discs for my bike (1974 850T) are no longer available, they were like T3 discs but with rounded flanges around the cut-outs in the carriers, T3 discs just had plain cut-outs. I could use T3 ones but these too are no longer available.
I get what you are suggesting about a new bike, but Guzzi discs are quite expensive and EBC ones are very good. You take your choice.
