V85tt rear calliper service kit

Advice request on behalf of a fellow guzzisti over in France prior to a September trip,” Does anyone do a service kit to fix a leaky seal problem as apparently brembo don’t they say it’s a new calliper !! “. Big thanks to everyone I’ve just been informed by the La Rochelle section that following confirmation that other seals were shot he’s decided to bite the bullet and order a complete new calliper €180 ouch !!

I cannot find any mention of the seal kit for the v85tt rear brake.

There are only the caliper and pin kits on the Guzzi sites French Guzzi parts

GTM (not always trustworthy) say it is not a Brembo brake?

Seal kits for v7s are available but without a measured comparison that is no help - sorry

Cheers :+1:t2::+1:t2:

It may be possible to use a BMW seal kit, but you would need to measure the piston diameter to confirm

Will pass that info on. Cheers :+1:t2:

@Admins could his thread be moved to v85tt technical please

Just checked mine while changing the pads, its a twin piston caliper the pistons are 22.0mm diameter on a vernier caliper.

There is no manufacturers mark that i recognise - see pictures

Also note that the ‘caliper support bracket’ is very very close to the underside of the outside brake pad (on my bike there was a witness mark on the old pad where they rub) this makes it harder than usual to force the pads in against the anti-slop springs.

Not brembo, but Heng Tong, I believe. Can’t see any 22mm rebuild kits from them but almost any 22mm repair kit will do - the seals are not very special or complex . Take the old ones out to measure the thickness to get more information before you order.

Istr that they’re similar to a Suzuki or Yamaha design -i have a note of the caliper pin parts and caliper pin bellows seals somewhere.
