Not all bikes are affected - if yours is, then Piaggio WILL send you a letter.
When you get the letter, contact your dealer - he has to order parts in advance (for your VIN number) to do the work. IT IS NOT JUST A CHECK !!!
Mine goes in for its first service and recall work on Monday. 100+ miles to Exeter, an overnight stay as they want a stone-cold engine and a Tuesday wandering around the city before I can pick up the bike and ride 100+ miles home! I have been dancing around the garden chanting for good weather for the last few days, so finger’s crossed.
50% chance of light showers - well one got me. An overnight stay in a B&B and then the ride home. Rain, yes. Hale, yes. Snow, yes. Cold, yes. Gale force crosswinds, yes! And to top it all my heated grips had suffered some sort of mishap during the service and recall work and so frozen fingers. Not enough? Ok, they were going to change the indicators, but only had two and the rear brake cylinder has a leak, so they want to change that too. So I’ve got to do it all again. Marvelous!
Not sure RR but JM should ask. All of the warranty work I had done I had to ride the bike there and back, I did get a demonstrator to ride home to save the overnight stop but then I am only 20 miles from one dealer and 35 miles from the other (both now no longer associated with Guzzi)
Give it a try, the worst that can happen is they say no! Or ask for a demonstrator to ride until your bike is sorted out.
