Recommended tyres for road use, currently Annakee Adventure on 12,500 miles.
metzler roadtec 01 are great on a v85tt, very good in rain.
i got over edit: maybe 8k (cant remember now!) miles just about, obviously no good off road. anyway not as long lasting as you have but i was riding them pretty hard. front had plenty left, rear was done.
i have michelin road 6 now but not many miles on them so cant say how they compare yet to the metzlers.
i didnt like trailmax meridians, twitchy in the wet, not as good as the original trailsmart max it came with which were great but metzlers a big improvement for handling and a bit softer too so more comfortable
Good to know my Annakee,s will do such good mileage as im finding them a super tyre
Currently using Avon Trailriders as I’ve used them successfully for years on my Transalp. Very reassuring in the wet.
6000 miles from the standard Michelins and loads left.
Will be getting those again.
Good grip in dry and wet for me.
Mine came with Dunlop Meridian which lasted to 8000 miles and were okay but nothing special.
I have put Dunlop Mutant on as they were really stable, grippy and confidence inspiring on my F900xr they have done 1500 and seem fine so far
My first set of Annakee adventure tyres did about 12,000miles, but after about 2/3rds worn they were horrible. The rear got a bit squared off and the front gets cupped. Handling is not good - no confidence. Despite this I replaced with the same but I swapped out these after about 8k miles for some pilot roads which as new tyres are, were great, but it was soon obvious I was only going to get about 6000 miles or so out them and as we were about to head off to Europe for an 8,000 mile trip I put a third set of Annakee adventure tyres on. They’ve now done about 10,000 miles and gone off. I’m going to refit the part worn pilot roads until I decide what’s next. The Annakee roads look interesting.
My Anakees also got to almost 12000 miles but were beginning to whiteline quite badly - Belgian urban motorways have lots of badly done overbanding and it was pretty unpleasant. I also found them noisy - bad enough to sound like a gearbox bearing going, when you’re on a long motorway sweeper just off vertical to hold the curve. I’ve replaced them with Conti TrailAttacks 3 - based on previous experiences with RoadAttacks on another bike. Too early to give a full opinion but the slight weave I had on those odd bits of A road surface that look as if they’ve been combed, has gone.
Road 5 or 6 give fantastic grip in wet but at 5000 miles the rear is about shot.
Lots of good reviews online for the Trailriders (and the slighlty-more-offroady Trekriders, which I have for my old BMW). No more being made though - Avon have ceased to exist.
