Hi has anyone used a Givi Tanklock ring and bag on their V85TT, I’m looking at this bag Givi XS307Y Xstream Tanklock Expandable Tank Bag - 15L with I believe a BF46 tank ting. Wondered how people got on with it. TIA
Hi Pockets, I use a Givi Tanklock and bag on my Stelvio. The Tanklock system works extremely well. Dead easy to use and very simple. The only drawback is that the bag has to be removed when re-fueling. (Easy if you have a pillion you can pass it to but if on your own it all gets a bit busy at the front of the bike). The Tanklock system provides for a fair amount of fore and aft adjustment of the bag. Mine is set to be as far back as possible so it doesn’t obscure the TomTom screen that is mounted to the handlebar clamp. I’d suggest you trial fit the bag before buying it and the Tanklock ring just so you get an idea of how it will tie in with the instrumentation on the V85TT. Cheers Phil
Hi, I use the Givi tanklock bag, I find it very good.
Don’t be surprised that you will need the complete kit which restricts your steering lock by a tiny amount as you need to fit a steering lock reducer under the lower yolk, a bit of a fiddle but you can still lock your steering, An allen key and a couple of spanners are required.
If you don’t fit it then when you turn your bars to full lock the bag touches the starter button. Given all that they really are good and very easy to use.
Would I buy another, Yes definitely.
Thank you, the lock ring is more expensive than the other.
Thank you, I was wondering if I could get away with not fitting the extra bits as not sure it would be a problem with a 15 litre bag.
My one is a 15 ltr and yes you do need to fit the extra bits.
No great problem, just a bit of time fitting it all.
Thank you, I mainly wanted the tank bad to use phone a sat nav, have ended up getting a GIVI case and bar that fits behind the screen.
