Hi. Back in the summer my 2016 V9 Roamer developed an occasional issue with the LCD failing then recovering. It finally gave up completely and now shows nothing, although the backlight still works. I removed the instrument panel and cleaned the connectors as best I can, but no joy. It has been suggested this is a fault in the instrument panel itself but the £6-700 cost of replacement is out of the question. So, does anyone have any ideas what else could cause this? I have been living with it for a few weeks and only miss the oddometer and, possibly, gear indicator so am happy to continue unless there is an obvious, inexpensive fix. Thank you.
I cant remember who it was, but there are a couple of companies that refurbish and repair electronic instrument panels, might be worth getting it repaired that way
there is one in the Netherlands i think, forgot the name
If Carmo can’t help, then a chat with Guzzi Tech might be in order.
I think that they can supply an alternative instrument that looks different but has all the functions.
I hope that your problem is a one off.
I had enough messing around with the clocks on my Breva 1100 and don’t want to start over with the V9 !!
Good luck
Thank you for all the advice and suggestions. After a diagnostic check and further investigations the problem has indeed been traced to the speedo unit. Repair or replacement, even if possible, are way too expensive. I did consider sourcing a used one from ebay but that could throw up the same problem after a while as well. I have lived with it for about a year now and no longer miss it. I’m not prepared to spend any more money on it so will continue to live with it. Thanks again.
