David, it is a shame that no one pointed you towards Fiat parts earlier, in the mid 70’s Guzzi under De Tomaso tried to rationalise parts production and along with Benelli (in the same group) started to fit a lot of Fiat parts, especially lighting and electrical bits. The 850T was the last bike to have a rear diff with a sump, an expensive cast aluminium part, the later 850T3 and Le Mans lost this. Possibly a saving in unsprung weight but probably a cost saving exercise. I had a Spada III and struggled to get headlamp mounts for inside the fairing, fortunately someone pointed me in the direction of Fiat parts and they were still available for Fiat 127 models that has the same headlight.

It is frustration that the footfall in here seems to have dropped, but let’s hope this is a temporary phenomenon and normal service will be resumed in due course.
