Visit suggestions

Old school pals visiting Rhigos Aberdare
(South Wales) on our Guzzi’s in late June.

Would really appreciate any suggestions for things we should visit/do ?

Thanks in advance.

Colin.

Hi Colin,
A few suggestions for you to visit.
These are things I have enjoyed, but depends on what your interests are. Some of the museums and sites of interest are now free. but due to cutbacks and many being run by volunteers, not all are open every day.
So best to check before setting out.

Big Pit Mining Museum (Free)
Blaenavon Iron Works
Brecon Steam Railway and Workshop (Good cafe)
Military Museum in Brecon
Cycle Museum in Llandrindod Wells
St. Fagans Folk Museum on the outskirts of Cardiff–just off the M4 (Free)
Take the A 470 to Brecon, then on to Abergavenny, then on to Hereford where you can visit the Water Museum.
This museum is one of my favourites, volunteer run, not open every day and well worth a visit.
Depending on whether you plan long or short runs, you could pick and mix, incorporating a few of these in one run perhaps.
Hope this may help and pleased to do so.

Regards
Ken

Hi Colin again,
Almost forgot.
Our latest attraction in South Wales is a Zip Wire experience within walking distance of the Rhigos.
Certainly not for me, but I am sure many of adventurous Guzzi riders would enjoy it. Perhaps you may be one of them!!

Many thanks. That’s brilliant !

Hi Colin,
If you should be planning a longer ride, this is a fantastic place to visit.
Internal Fire Museum of Power Tan-y-Groes, Cardigan, West Wales.
Do have a look at their website and check opening times as again run by volunteers. Promise you will not be disappointed and will travel on some fantastic biking roads to get there.

Thanks ! That looks a brilliant suggestion.
