I replaced the battery indicator 1.8W bulb with a 2.3W one from Halfords (product number 284).

It would be worth your while reading that thread.
Thanks Don, I have read the link and very informative, I will try Halfords tomorrow and see if I can get the bulb mentioned, no hurry as tank cleaning and lining will take me the rest of the week.

‘284’ is a type designation, 2.3W wedge…
Equiv., T5, 286…
They’re on eBay and Euro Car Parts.
Thanks Mike,I will try Halfords first and then ebay if Halfords have not got.

Dodger, did you ever get the problem resolved?
Hi Chris, yes most issues now solved. I bought a 2.8w T5 bulb from ebay and the charging light now works as it should. The other idiot lights were too dim to see in daylight, left the indicators on once (dangerous) so swapped all the others for led T5’s and they are now bright enough to be seen. The misfire on the left hand bank turned out to be a filthy fuel tank that blocked the pilot jet, I have included a couple of pictures. I have now cleaned the tank and lined it with POR15.
