No Guzzi action anticipated for me this weekend. Had a pair of Western Bars turn up in the post that I might try fitting to the BSA (A10) is all.
Busy few days. NTX/XPA750 sold and collected by a Guzzi small block enthsiast who aims to get it tidied up and back to police spacification.
More bits and pieces cleaned and sorted for the T3 California. Hoing to take the wheels, seat and mudguards off for refimishing soon.
LMII fork ebuild almost done and will be ready to fit to the T3-1100i Mongrel.
All go!
Don the exhaust looks great, I like the way the pipe follows the cylinder finning then kinks down below the side panel, looks right!
Thanks Chris. I’m well pleased with it, just waiting on a friend of a friend to weld it up.
Being a ‘Keyworker’ as a steering wheel attendant on a juggernaut that pops over to the continent every other day, I have to take a Pregnancy test for the plague, so when I get to Eurotunnel the French fag smoking newspaper reading customs officer, can look over at me disdainfully, then wave me through…
So I thought seeing as I’d serviced the T5, best I pop along to Clacket Lane and get me test, making sure the bike was OK after I’d serviced it, and just as I got near the mileage rolled over to a mile stone it the bike’s life. 34yrs it’s taken, the bike spent 26yrs in the first owners garage…
Oh no ! I hope your bike doesn’t have a mid-life crisis. It might grow a beard and turn into a Harley.
Guzzi action - yeah … pushed the Pearl off the table to clear space to put the A10 up for the bar swap out. By chance found a frayed cable at the throttle end on that. Ended up making one up - new inner in old outer. But the replacement meant the carb had to come off. That’s a concentric, and on refitting I found that even pulling it up gently on the studs caused the body to distort enough that the slide then wouldn’t drop. Got to love working on old Brit bangers.
A10 went back in the bike port. Pearl is parked next to it. Hardley is now parked on the table (I have to keep a bike on it due to space limitations) ready to go for MOT on Thursday.
Took the Stornello scrambler out today, of a sorts. This meant I pushed it a mile and half across town to get the exhaust system welded up at a local engineers. The silencer is welded and the pipe is tacked, due to be finished tomorrow. (Lunchtime back hander job )
Then I pushed the bike a mile and half back home. At least it was pretty much flat all the way.
Pictures to follow tomorrow.
“At least it was pretty much flat …” - at least it wasn’t a LM.
SORNing the Pearl today - in preparation for putting the V5 in through the PO to switch to Historic.

Oil changed, fresh tyres on, stripes cleaned off the tank for this season
Popped out on the Bonneville to pick up the exhaust pipe all welded up by the local engineering company. Lovely looking job. Well pleased with it.

Went to head out for a ride on the Bonneville this afternoon and found the front tyre was flat with a screw through the tyre so pulled the Spada out for a run. Lovely warm afternoon for it.

Lovely Spada wish I’d kept mine.
Thanks. I’ve owned it since 1989 and tried to look after it, just a few subtle modifications made over time.

Put it on Ebay…
Beetle mapped the bike today
Pulled Blue out from under covers at the weekend. Fired up fairly easily after sitting since last October time - and quite a bit of work having been done since. Had to seat a throttle cable at the top of a carb and fix a weeping banjo joint.
Booked in for MOT on Thursday.
Pearl got parked at the back of the carport so may not see the light of day for a while now.
Bought a half share in a Jawa 350 combo.
Which half?
The top, won’t need new tyres as often as the bottom.
