What did you do with your Guzzi today ? .......

Disappointingly, whilst my two daughters showed some interest when younger – and have ridden pillion, and I used to transport them around in a large D/A Busmar strapped loosely to the side of a T3 when they were small, they are now pretty much agin it. Seen me hospitalised once too many time I suspect. My youngest figured that level of m/cycling ineptitude would bring a foreshortening to her athletic aspirations, though the board track Bantam project has got her maybe interested again – for riding around the garden at least. Out of all my many nephews and nieces not a single one has shown any inclination. Am I getting real motorcyclists a bad name?

Meanwhile:

All I managed over the weekend was clear some space in the bike port and then transfer the Black Pearl from the car port to there. Then move Zed off the lifting table and put Blue on it. Just to make Zed available for the station run this week – for which it was very reluctant to start this morning.

Contemplating taking the Pearl to Derbyshire this coming weekend for a Sunbeam rally. Not necessarily appropriate but as my Sunbeam has a slipping clutch and over indulgent oil pressure light I feel this might be the more prudent call.

Er, road it to work and back in the lovely weather. Cleaned it yesterday .

Where’s this “private” bit of road then Ian?Â

Same 30 mile stretch I used to give the Colorado Bee his maiden voyage…

Correct, it just appears out of nowhere like magic.

I painted and fitted the front brake hose clamps to the mudguard. That looks better.

Riding through Kidlington the car 2 cars in front of me was doing 25mph and no way to overtake.
I had an equally frustrated hgv up my errse.
Got to the traffic lights where the cars turn left just as they turned green so I gave it some through the gears and then had to brake sharpish as I was 30 mph over the 50 limit in no time.
I am going to have to look out for my licence.
I really don’t think it has seen 75mph before I brought it, the poor thing and I am clearing out its tubes.

Gave it a decent thrash to see what fell off, nothing so far, so started loading up for Brion. Surprised how much will go in the old original panniers, tools hi viz and air compressor in the left, weekends worth of clothes in the right and still room in the top box for the beer mug, book, towel, wash bag, camera and back pack for on board use. Tent, air bed, sleeping pod and seat all in the roll bag on the back seat. ready to roll.

Enjoyyyyyyyy.

+1 Mr Duffo
Remember to conduire a droite

Rode it and avoided the garage, spanners etc
Happy days

rode to scarborough, home via the scenic route, so 270 miles in all… its now in the shed with its oil draining out and my buttocks are recovering on the nice comfy sofa! the le mans ‘comfort seat’ starts to inflict pain after a couple of hours…

I tried really hard with Zen & The Art. I really wanted to like it, being an art student at the time and all. But in the end its greatest use was when I used it as a pillow when crashed out one night in a King’s Lynn doorway…

They’re good those private roads, aren’t they? We’ve got lots of them in Russia now the commies have gone.Â

oh so we’re being all mysterious are we? I will find out eventually so you may as well spill the beans
Anyway 30 miles and you only got 111 mph?Â

I will tell you over a beer in Devon next week.

It seems I have bought another! 71 Ambassador from the US.

Not another twitchy finger on the “buy it now” button?

That makes me feel much better Jmee cause I bought an 1973 Eldorado yesterday and I’ve already got a 1971 v7, this is of course perfectly rational behaviour.   Â

Was that the one Kate posted?
