Thanks Mike. Just got mine but she’s 3 years old so will do some checks over the darker nights. Great advice thank you.
Elaine and I took both of our bikes and headed up to Scarborough today. Weather was lovely for the first 4 miles, then we hit thick mist and drizzle. The fish and chips we had for lunch quickly restored our spirits before an equally wet ride home. Fitted a pair of rubber knee grips/tank protectors last night, reckon they look pretty good.
Another Day in Paradise!
Visited the Sammy Miller Motorcycle museum.
I was honoured to meet the great man himself who, on being told that I’d arrived on my Moto Guzzi California EV, remarked that his V8 was faster!
To be fair Sammy would be faster than most people even on a moped
Tried to dodge the rain and still managed to be cold when I got home. Trip to the Ponderosa in North Wales to get used to the V7. Forgot to take a pic of the bike but got the cafe in and met a mate and had the low carb lunch
Last week could not see my hand in front of my face upthere… today the wind was trying to blow me off the bike… Cracking

Where’s that Phil? Looks a bit bleak
Took the little Stornello out on the North Birmingham VMCC section Levis cup road trial. A cracking good day out around the hills and lanes of Worcestershire and Shropshire. The 4 italian stallions of power really struggled with some of the hills!
That’s a beautiful bike Don. Love the mandatory piece of carpet for the oil…
Castleside heading to Stanhope Bazzer…
Bleak but Superb
Beautiful up there but I may wait for warmer weather
Nice ride out on Saturday evening with Elaine, we went in full touring mode to see how Elaine managed her bike with the extra weight of camping gear. Overnight camp at the MAG conference at Driffield which was a bit weird as it’s only 7 miles from home but it gave us chance to try out the new tent. Then over to Squires on the Sunday, taking the most indirect (much more interesting roads) route we could find for a carvery and to check out all the bikes. Lots of interest in the two v85’s with more than one person saying they had never seen one before and how much they liked the styling. Then literally as we left another red and white liveried v85tt pulled into the car park. A quiet hello was all we had time for but good to see another v85 on the road.
Hope Elaine managed OK. Very different riding fully loaded but adventures await.
lol. Like a duck to water. She is a cracking rider and gaining in confidence every time we ride out.
Last overnight trip of the year. YHA had a members 25% off offer, so went to the stunning hostel at ‘The Sill’ on Hadrians Wall. Lovely modern building, superb private rooms with really good en suite facilities. Day 1 rode from York up through the Dales, Kirkby Stephen and on via the back roads to Brampton. Day 2 rode home via Hexham, Blanchland, Stanhope, Barnard Castle and Richmond. The views on both days were truly wonderful - the tops of all the hills were clear and the autumn colours were stunning. Shout outs to The Sill, White Monk Tearooms at Blanchland and Mocha at Aske just north of Richmond - all unforgettable in a good way. Roll on next years touring season eh?
I don’t recognise that weather Deejaysmi . Definitely fluked that day out mate. Well done. Great pic.
Some cracking roads up there mate. Butternut Pass is on my list too.
