What's this worth then?

Looking at a 2013 California 1400 Tour, 12k miles, 5 owners FSH.

From the photos it looks immaculate.

I don’t know why it would have had five owners. Bit of a red flag perhaps.

But it’s the right colour!

Up for £10500 which on the face of it seems a bit much for a thirteen year old bike but I have zero idea what the cruiser market is like.

If anyone could offer any insight I’d be very pleased to listen!

Can’t say I’m up to date with prices, all you can do is see what else is about on the usual selling sites and go from there.

You could also try a site like this..

Yes, thanks for the reply I’ve had a look and it’s maybe a grand more than it should be. I’ll give them a ring when they are open and see if there’s any chance of them knocking a bit off.. It’s a bit of a trek to go and see it. But they don’t come up for sale that often😋

well nobody advertises at the actual price they want do they, since they expect people to haggle

I appreciate I’m late to the party here, but I found all the 1400s for sale when I was looking had more owners than I would have expected for the mileage, but maybe there’s a correlation there. They are a big heavy beast, which to me gives every ride a sense of occasion, but many people may try one and find it a bit too much for the kind of riding they do. Despite the size and weight they handle really well. I took my 2013 Custom Cruiser to Mandello and back in September. 2865 miles over all kinds of roads, 9 countries in 13 days including the Route Des Grandes Alpes and Furka, Grimsel and Susten passes on the way home. The D902 had quite a few roadworks and at one point a 4km diversion through some woods on a trail I might have been nervous on riding my old Tiger Sport, but she lapped it up! I think there’s so much choice around now people chop and change more than me. I’m planning to do many more trips on mine. I’m assuming this was the one at LondonSpeed and that you didn’t buy it as it’s still advertised…

Thanks for that, I appreciate your words especially about the big bike on the Route des Grandes Alpes. This particular 1400 was (still is) in Bury Motorcycles. We agreed a price and it will be in my garage in a week or two, once it has a door on it! (the garage, not the bike). It’s my second Guzzi; it took me forty years to get my first, eighteen months to get my second. I’m hoping it will be here a while. We shall see!
