Hello, I’ll apologise up front for posing such a basic question. I have looked in the owner’s manual and searched online but haven’t found the answer yet. I have a 2025 V7 Sport and would like to fit a set of engine bars. Please refer to attached photograph. The bars are an SW Motech item and look to mount to points A & B.
Questions:
1/ what is the purpose of bolt A? Looking at the mounting instructions, it appears to be a long rod that emerges on the opposite side of the engine. There is a supplied replacement rod in the engine bars fitting hardware. I obviously don’t want to remove it willy nilly and have something nasty and unexpected happen.
2/ what are the torque wrench settings for A & B?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give.
Just had a look at the SW Motech engine bars…they look the bees knees and will be a fantastic addition to your V7 Sport. Hopefully the instructions should give the torque values….from what I remember should be M10 bolt 58 Nm. M8 bolt 30 Nm. Happy fitting
I have recently fitted SW Motech engine bars to my V7 Sport E5+. The engineering is excellent and they fitted perfectly. As a precaution I supported the engine but everything lined up and the install was very straightforward. Full fitting instructions were downloadable from the SW Motech website. The bars are neat, very tough and do not interfere with valve covers nor impede access to other engine areas. Simple rock solid highly recommended.
You can just about see the SW Motech engine bars now fitted to my V7 Sport by A&D Motorcycles, MG main dealer in Denbigh, North Wales. I think the bars are about the tidiest fit I’ve seen. Let’s hope I don’t need to test them.
