Le Mans 1 fairing- with handlebars?

Hello, I have replaced the top yoke on my Le Mans 1 with one which has handlebar brackets. I could not get near to coping with clip-ons at my age. Will bars pass the fairing OK? Could I use bars from a T3, if they are still available? Will the Le Mans switchgear still fit?

Thank you.

I switched from clip-ons on my LM for the same reason. I put on a set of Renthal Road Bike Ultra Low Motorcycle Handlebars. It still looks ok with the fairing and gives a comfortable riding position. T3 bars are comparatively high and you’d need new cables and brake pipe to fit.

If it helps - I did similar, I used Spada h/bars (that I happened to have spare), but went further with a Spada / T4 style top fairing. My LM1 never had the little cockpit fairing, having been modified before I got it. A bigger issue tho was h/bar switches and rewiring. :open_mouth:
I ended up using Honda Superdream h/bar switches which were cheap secondhand and only meant to be temporary, but became permanent fixtures.

I’m in a similar boat. I’m building a MK1 Lemans for a chap and we’ve gone with higher handlebars and Kawasaki Z900 shiotch gear. He has also bought some quite tasteful headlight ‘ears’ but these mean that original method of mounting the clocks won’t work, and from my way of think look a tad flakey in the first place. Any bright ideas on how to mount the clocks?

I thought potentially I could use longer M8 cap screws that are used to clamp the bars and use a series of lock nuts and make some brackets. He doesn’t have any of the original rubber mountings for the clocks, so god knows how easy they will be to source and how many millennia they will take

Many thanx

You can use O rings instead. see here as I have click here

Best wishes Chris
