hi all, … has anyone successfully rigged up a 4 way flasher system to an older (‘93) Guzzi ? Apparently it may involve ‘diodes’ and other bits of electrickery ? … A simplified wiring diagram showing the general layout would come in usefull as the colour coding of my wiring harness is far from original! .. Thanks .. Ian.
It should be possible to rig up a hazard switch in a similar way to an SP1000 or LM3 both of which have two of the two terminal flasher units and an extra hazard switch. On my SP1000 the Hazards (and indicators !) will work with the ignition off, looking at the wiring diagram this is correct. Whereas with the LM3 the hazards work with the ignition off but the indicators dont.
The wiring diagrams for both of these are on Guzzitek
They are wired slightly differently.
Both need a double pole double throw toggle switch for the hazards

The reason that the hazards work when the ignition is off is that they are supplied via a fuse direct from the battery, where as the indicators are only live when the ignition is switched on.
I can supply you with a wiring diagram for your model and/or a model with a hazard light switch as standard. (see here)
