Stelvio clutch for the Mandello?

I traded a '23 Mandello in for a '24 Stelvio. Clutch and gearbox are much worse as is the suspension.

Wow! Thanks, @John_Wiffen, that is very interesting! And completely unexpected. I’m sorry it’s turned out this way.

Hopefully others will come along who have ridden both bikes and can comment.

I’m very disappointed.
I have an Aprilia 660 Tuareg and love it. They just can’t get their act together. It’s no good releasing prototypes for sale.

I’ve ridden two Mandellos and three Stelvios, one of which I’ve owned for nearly 9,000 miles. I love it but I have some gripes. Switchgear ergonomics and harsh suspension are annoying, a clunk with almost every gear change up or down is frustrating.

My Stelvio has the worst gearbox of the five and the worst I’ve ever used. The engage first gear clunk has never improved though some owners report theirs has. I get smoother up changes above third if I don’t use the clutch, so I don’t; and I’ve adopted a never-put-the-bike-in-neutral attitude and a switch-off-the-engine-with-the-sidestand technique to minimise its bad noises.

But there are compensations and I have no plans to change it any time soon. A more adjustable monoshock from Matrisdampers.com costs about £1,200 in the UK, and it’s a measure of how much I like the bike that I’m thinking of buying one!!
