Just to prove old petrol still works.
Depends what it’s in. My old Briggs and Stratton mower didn’t like stale petrol, and you’d think an old side valve motor wouldn’t be fussy.
Shell V power 
High octane fuel such as v power does not suffer any where near the storage problems as standard grade.
Took Stumpy to his new owner in Essex…mite be joinin the club…be gentle with im Buzz, Del n Butch…

First run out on the Mongrel for a while.
40 odd mile run through Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Cheshire had me grinning like one of those cats 
Bike and rider survived and thrived.
Home to do a bit on the NTX with a view to getting it running at least tomorrow.

A bit of tinkering with the SP today. Suddenly seem to find time is against me to get this bike back on the road, seeing as we’re in March now. Frustrated at every turn today…
Repaired the fairing but the fibreglass resin doesn’t seem to want to go off properly. Hopefully it’s just a bit cold so I’ve parked it on top of the boiler for a while.
Couldn’t fit the LM breather box (or K&N filter) - no suitable size hose for the outlet.
Couldn’t fit the warning lamp panel because I need some 90deg blade connectors.
This evening I’m hoping to splice a VTR left-hand switch into the harness, but we’ll see.
I’ve got a boxful of suitable hoses if that’s of use.
Let me know and I’ll measure/cut some off for yu.

Took the beetle across the city to get some flue for little Belgian stove…no joy no 4"…have ter be internet…glad I was on the bike…sun was out…and the tin tops were all stationary in queues…
I’ve got a boxful of suitable hoses if that’s of use.

I think Mr Bamford is going to donate a length of hose on Monday, but thanks for the offer Steve.
Plenty of other bits and bobs to get on with anyway.
A couple of hours on the NTX which has been languishing too long.
New remote fuel tank is a boon when fitting new hoses, clips etc.
Just a vague whiff of fuel in the garage now 
Sadly fuel and carb work means no heating in the garage.
Hence time for the forum.
Small step towards the MoT.

As plans go that was pretty cunning 
Early start, review events list yet again.
Off on the Mongrel for a 90 mile run with bacon sandwich half way at The Raven. Avoided roadworks and traffic queues with some ad hoc exploring which had me zigzagging the Cheshire Shropshire border a few times. Bike running better after every few miles after an enforced winter lay up. Called in for a happy hour with Guy Wain and Kate’s lovely mug of tea.
Home to find that Eurocarb http://www.dellorto.co.uk/product-category/dellorto-motorcycle-carburettors-parts/ had manged to get my 4pm Friday order off to the post office so that it arrived this morning.

Many distractions, but managed a couple of hours Friday night and a bit more today to finish the wiring to the Firestorm lefthand switch I’ve fitted, and got the LM breather box and K&N filter fitted. Bit of a Chinese puzzle to get the breather into place and the filter doesn’t seem a good fit considering it’s supposed to be specifically designed for Guzzis.
Aiming to put the battery on tomorrow and see whether anything works.
