Took the Cali for a spin after fitting pods and bigger jets.
Going well… onwards and upwards

On my 1979 Spada I bled the brakes, stripped and cleaned the brake pads and caliper pins, fitted a new clutch cable and balanced the carbs with vacuum gauges. Ready for spring!

First decent run out this year. Took my burgundy black frame V11 out into the Derbyshire hills, arrived in Matlock Bath (we will be there in August for the Guzzi fest) for fish n chips, only to be surrounded by this cut throat bunch of desperadoes

Took a ride into the hills

First decent day yesterday for what seems like forever, so had a ride around the countryside, with a brief stop at my old primary school, over half a century since I first went there.

Took this 43 year old lady out for a 150km run to Kitty Hawk Aerodrome east of Pretoria. Lovely weather, great ride!

Ah ha! I was at Sywell too and I thought I saw you, but you had disappeared before I had a chance to introduce myself. It was a good day with a great turn out. Perhaps I’ll catch you next time.
A lovely bike you have there.

Took my Norge up the Glen from my home town of Kirriemuir past Glen Clover up to Glen Doll, Thus recreating a ride I did with the Guzzi club during the Scottish Rally in 2009. (see pics , bikes in order of their owners)

Its a cracking ride slow becuase of the road width but stunning scenically. So anyway I went to my garage this morning to give Norrie a clean to find I had thrown the cover over her whilst the exhaust was still too hot. I now have a plastic coated silencer… Dho.
Recently rejoined the club and am looking forward to the highland meet next weekend.

Looked at her in bits and thinking a 7 week wait (so far) for clutch related parts should’ve made me look elsewhere for parts in stock.

Went to the Highland meet today but I’m not sure if any other Guzzi’ists did?

Replaced the crank rear main seal and discovered my paint marks on the rear crank boss and flywheel had come off so I’ll need to figure out how to position the flywheel correctly before reassembly of the new clutch parts🙄

Finally got my repaired gearbox back in the bike. Then found that the mainstand really needs to be powder coated before going back on. I should have spotted it sooner but it was absolutely filthy and it was only after I cleaned it that I saw how little paint was left on it.

Smooth Hammerite is your friend :+1:

Good thinking Chris. That will save some time.

installed a mistral velocity stack, seems to have improved low and mid range throttle response, more noticable 2 up.

last night I fitted mistral stainless steel downpipes and link pipe to my v85tt. still with stock silencer but sounds better. definitely an improvement in throttle response, nice surge of torque in 4th now that feels like it’s still in 3rd but with more rev range to play with. A slight increase in power judged by putting it on cruise control at 5k rpm and it’s indicating 3mph higher than usual (although the speedo reads high all the time so actual increase is less).

conical silencer on order and some new dome nuts and one manifold stud was corroded so replacing that too. riding it all winter really takes a toll. valve covers looking tatty and need a repaint.
