The trumpet? No, sits under the filter.
Aha, so it provides a cleaner less convoluted airflow into the filter box ?
sounds clever
Almost, it delivers smoother air from the filter box to the throttle body.
I was playing today in the 2000-3500 rev range and it is noticeably improved down low.
Hmm. Wonder if the same sort of thing might be available for the V100 Mandello…?
Not had a look in the airbox yet, so don’t know if such a device would be appropriate/possible.
Would that affect the warranty, bearing in mind the Canbus system will record a change in the airflow settings ?
Would it?
There is nothing to “record”…if the device works as advertised, all that it does is to affect the turbulence of the airflow into the throat of the injector.
I fitted one to my v85 a while ago, definitely did make a difference. Removing the cat made an even bigger difference…
The 2021 on models have a foam insert in the down pipes unlike 2019-2020. That’s why the lambda sensors had to be moved as it extends quite far up the pipes which are now one piece with the cat box itself.
If you see the pipes cut open it’s no wonder the HP dropped by about 5hp on 2021 onwards.
Amazing there’s any decent airflow through that at all. It’s also 5kg heavier than a mistral system.
Someone asked on another thread how I think the bike can go 1mph faster at the same rpm using the same gearing… Here is the answer less weight, less crap restricting the exhaust gas and forcing the engine to work harder.
what about MOT time
they have wizened up to people de catting cars
surely the motorcycle test will pick that up ?
If it passes emissions they don’t care. I have a 2016 bike that passed a few mots with a tiny shotgun pipe on when I removed the cat.
I have kept the boat anchor just in case but I hope I never have to refit it, was really awkward taking it off. I can see why the guys in the video just cut theirs.
somewhere near Alston?
Weardale, (Highest point) on the way to Alston
I thought it looked vaguely familiar. Great area to ride.
I gave my guzzi a good wash, dried her off and waxed her, and slipped her safely into the workshop connected to the umbilical
when I have a rubbish day , I am going to run my hand over her and remember all the places she has taken me, and hopefully in a few months will do again, massive thanks to Tony Botto and TBS for overhauling and prepping her ready for the rest, if he gets time next year a few of us are taking a trip to Overloon
I will probably Sorn her now as the tax is silly money as well , and up yours mayor kahn for not letting me ride it in london even though it Euro 3 !!
but its ok to drive a 3 tonne range rover half a mile to the hairdressers isnt it !
Nice one, Brian!
A nice ride back from Guzzifest. A great weekend. The Breva performed perfectly. I enjoyed a 60 mile run around the Peaks on Saturday
Not so much today, but last week. 2,500 miles round Europe on the Mandello; haven’t done that on a bike for 35 years. It only had 1,100 miles on it when I set off, but was faultless all the way. In fact, it coped rather better than my rear end did!
