Busy day in the garage cleaning and polishing parts for my V50.
Everything is ready to go back together except the bevel box which needs new seals. Ill get the local shop to pull off the output bearing so I can finish that. The frame should be back from powder coating next week, then the rebuild can start.

Everything is good with the bike just waiting for the ice to leave the roads and I will give her a run.

Swing-arm gaiter was torn on the Monza, so, by the time I had removed the swing-arm, the postie delivered the new part…..Unfortunately, I’d been sent the wrong gaiter….all the way from across the North Sea.
No suprise that Derbyshire is rated as one of the worst
and then clean all of the grime off

I am amazed to see that Essex is green on the DfT map, it certainly doesn’t seem like that around here, maybe amber and red areas are even worse!

no gritting here last night or this morning so I decided to have a quick run to shops on bike and check it’s all working since last ride about 3 weeks ago before we had snow.
started ok, front brake lever feels hard so maybe one caliper has seized. still enough there to stop easily.

Today I serviced my V50 forks with new seals and oil and then I rebuilt my leaky bevel box with a new seal kit. All done while drinking too much coffee and listening to Norwegian progressive death metal. I had a lovely time!

Ha, I spent an evening in an Oslo bar last October listening to Norwegian Death Metal.. 
Pop in Vaterland Bar if you’re ever that way, they do lovely home-made pizzas too

Ive always wanted to go to Norway for a bike tour. Maybe after I get a V100 ill go over there

I’m in a similar situation with the rear end of my V50 Monza. Replacement swing arm gaiter has arrived, but had to replace wheel bearings and the driveshaft sleeve looks a wee bit worn. Just awaiting parts.

Slomosa are on one of my play lists.
Ive just re-fitted my swinging arm and bevel box. Its not too tricky, just a bit fiddly getting the drive shaft splints engaged on the bevel box. Fitting the frame back on the engine is so much easier than lifting the engine in to a more traditional cradle frame.

Ticking the days off on the calendar for the first proper test since (hopefully) sorting out the California fuel/cutting out issues.
The deluge has removed the salt, however the roads are covered in a mixture of mud, leaves, water and ‘good fertiliser that, arr’ 
Patience… 
Removed and repolished my ‘stainless’ pipes ready to get them dirty again now

Bought a rear wheel to go with the spare frame, forks, engine, front hub etc in the garage attic so I see the beginnings of another Stornello project bike.
