What did you do with your Guzzi today ? .......

So THAT’S what it meant.

Okey-doke!

Took ealdest daughter for Easter egg blast on TT to see her sisters. Loved every min… Cannot believe how well the 650 TT goes!!

Hi, well we replaced the gearbox on Izzy’s V65 and it was a good chance to give it a clean. Just need to finish putting it back together. Gave my Lemans 3 a clean.

Started me Daytona…hasn’t run for 2 years !..forgot how well they sound…just got to have fork seals then we’ll get him Mot’d…jobs a good un…

Started to ‘fettle’ the Lario I brought from Steve (guzzibrat) before Christmas - it’s been a long, cold winter!

Runs extremely well (feels as quick as my old T3). Got close ‘dialling in’ the control positions today and need to fix the wooden front brake (are they all like that?). This is going to be fun!!!

Congrats…thats a very pretty little bike…

Took my lil’Breva to the Mayflowers Four Alls camping weekend over Easter just outside Strattford.
So I got some culture as well as talking bolleaux and eating and drinking to sufficiency.

I believe they are all like that, there is a theory it’s because they use the same f/b master cylinder as the LM IV which is to big for the smaller slave cylinder fitted. I was going to try the floating discs off the LM as well along with a smaller master cylinder one day, haven’t got round to it yet though.

Wotcher Pete…
Collected a bike from Barrow in Furness today ( lovely drive)…thus I have done nothing with a guzzi…Guy however has fitted new fork seals to me Daytona so twill be on the road next week…yippee…
Now Mr D…what are the four Alls…

I patted the Bella on the nosecone and took Yambo out for a thrash…Wah-hoo etc.  mini-wheelies and 12"  blue flames on over-run c/w right hand and wrist Desparate Dan stylee with crep front brake requirng Tarzan grip to notice any effect…Returned and told Bella “Only Jokin’ pet” then fired her up for a much more refined blat to gi’ the battery and  my adrenalne another boost…Chroist i loove my mosheens Mwaaaahhh xxx

I only found out last weekend.
Rule all, pray all, fight all and pay all.
Apparantly there used to be a fifth, Ethal, but she left before they became famous.

Naaahhh Dunners, you must have misheard that last one, it was F.All aka 'Shiste Mc.Gregor’Â

In the words of that song…Eth…all…Eth…all…who the feck is Eth…all…
Am glad you are rediscovering the therapy of motorcycles mon ami…as evidenced by your literary gems returning to the BB…
Myself…I returned from work early ( have delivery to Cardiff on the morrow)…to MOT me dato…going there via Alfa Tyres…to check if the 3 year old tyres on said machine mite actually get thro an MOT !..The men from Del Monte reckoned they would…just…and thus it came to pass…with advisos…nay bother…on order…Happy Daze…

…Ahhh I never realised Eno was quoting Roy (Chubby) Brown there Mon Princess…He told me he hasn’t watched a telly since Reddifusion repo’d his last one in 1965Â :sunglasses:

Been preparing to fit my spare Spada bars wot I got off Reboot a year or 2 back, (original is Spada also but supposed to be slightly bent. Also thought was corroded but after I got it off and wiped it over with a just slightly oily rag it’s come up quite bright really), plus, a complete dogleg clutch lever (to match brake lever t’other side).

I notice clutch lever mount has threaded hole for a clutch switch, oo that’s 'andy 'arry I thinks so pop over to Marshall’s over the road (formerly Swifts) to see what they got in the way of clutch lever pin switches, found something that will work, it’s M6 x 0.7 thread and hole is M8, but a thin nut I found will go inside clutch mount casting to hold it in. Soldered on a pair of wires and a 2-pin connector, proper job!

Did the swap today. Take things off bars, bars off, ‘new’ bars on.

I also renew the tacho drive cable and its rightangled adaptor (got a crack in it). For yonks the tacho needle has wobbled and wavered back and forth as though cable is tight somewhere, I blamed it being the wrong length so bends aren’t right. But no, the new cable (complete) is exactly the same length. (Spada / LM2 type [same style dasboard]) So previous should’ve still been right then!

Then while I’m assembling the various bits of the new cable and putting on the r/a adaptor, just by chance I discover that if the knurled nut is tightened up on the adaptor, it all locks solid!! WTF?!? But this is all new parts - I undo nut and push adaptor into the metal end of the cable outer, sure enough there’s a tiny gap because the adaptor spindle bottoms out on the brass bit of the inner cable. I find a narrow aluminium sealing washer as for the rocker box banjos that’s a perfect fit, and hey presto nut can be done up tight and cable and adaptor revolves freely.

So I check old cable and adaptor that I took off, guess what it’s exactly the same! If knurled nut is tight, it’s seized up. So the wobbling tacho needle was purely due to this nut being a bit loose, so allowing the cable to just about turn.

Installed new cable on bike. Next, try to reassemble stuff that came off the handlebars. The routing of the front brake hose and throttle cable are doing very peculiar things - what the hell, but you were perfectly OK just an hour or so ago, before you were disturbed - sorted the brake hose eventually, but got the ache with it after that and called it a day. What is it about Guzzis that things you take off won’t fit back on??! Still haven’t got as far as fitting clutch cable yet! What sort of can of worms is that going to involve?

How goes it with the superscoot Miko ?..

Waiting for the parts to come from Piaggio. Anyone’s guess how long!

The other day I was looking to see if it could be bodged up to be rideable, but damage is too extensive. Biggest prob would be no right footboard. But I did successfully straighten the frame lugs it’s fixed to with a big 'ammer.

Took Bella for a spin with the motorcycle division of Her Majesty’s Constabulary. Knackered now: damn those guys are good… :open_mouth:

and gals, don’t forget  (hi Kate)
