Got rid off all that years ago.
All that’s left are 4 bungees which hold my tent on the bike.
Hey, the carriage return is now showing in the post.
Things are definitely on the up.
And it’s the Dwyle Flunkers this weekend at the Lower Lode.
Weather looks good.
Lovely workout in the howling wind for the V7 Classic, uphill and down a long dale then over the wolds to Wetwang for the Club monthly.
I thought I’d found my side panel cover again, lost a couple of years ago on a particularly lairy stretch, but 'twas a poly fish and chip box when I stopped to check. It would just about fit as well, anything’s preferable to the £65 for another

Washed him, and in doing so discovered the starter solenoid had lost one bolt and the other was halfway out…
Had the monthly ride over to Sunbeam Club last night - this time on Blue. A12, M25, M20 and then a short stretch of lanes with grass growing down the middle. Not really good biking roads. Experienced some interesting weather and got the bike dirty again after scrubbing it up just Monday. Ah well.
Just finished putting it back together after having the crankcase breather box out and the ball valve. However nothing obviously wrong with it and nothing loose like hose joints, conclusion: oil loss must be entirely due to doing 240 miles at 5,000 rpm on the M6. Still inconvenient! Â
Did order a new valve from Gutsibits and have put it in, although I notice the new ones have an O-ring in the bottom, on the new one at least this wasn’t making a seal so I hooked it out, well the old design never had any and ball seals perfectly in the hole in the bottom. Still wanted to be sure there was nothing awry only way to be sure is take things off to have a look. Weather prevented until today.Â
I remember another member had an identical oil loss issue in France(?) couple years ago? Can’t remember who or what model bike but again was after a high speed blast of some distance.Â
#2. All the petrol hose joints were loose, I have simplified things by one hose per tap i.e. one tap per carb. Still leaks! But deffo know it’s the LH carb’s banjo now. Off to Spalding tomorrow.

Remembered what a great bike an EV is when the rain and traffic are both heavy.

Got a new front tyre fitted on Blue. Stuck the wheel back in this evening. Then noticed some stress cracks appearing in the Cali screen I have fitted. Pulled that apart and put some better bends in the mounting rails. Then figured I’d make up a spacer to increase the length of the clutch cable outer.
I would say that it’s better than hunkering down in front of the TV, but I’ve got activity under the nesting box cam at the moment, so that’s perhaps not quite true.
If I get any riding in at the weekend it will be a run out on’t Nimbus on Sunday to a British bike meet. Danishhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Enjoying these carriage returns that have recently appeared btw.
Rode it to Lincolnshire! And beat the rain! And had a very nice egg and chips lunch at the Surfleet Cafe.Â

Found a way to mount the shoes on the brake plates of the V7Sport without them biting lumps out of my fingers.

Helped Guy replace the main seal on his loop and manhandle the motor back in…up  and running nicely…
Replaced the pulley belt on my Eldorado and found that the belt is too tight as they’re supposed to run loose
I wondered that, when you said the teeth were falling apart. I think they’re supposed to drive off the flank near the top. The modern belts have teeth to aid flexibility and cooling. Mine is quite loose and looks like it’s leaping around like crazy when I shine the strobe on it to do the timing.

Went out for a ride with a friend on a GS, swapped bikes, but the best thing was getting my Stelvio back!Â
Thrapped the Breva 750 through the black forest on Friday. Overheated the front disc into brake fad and cooked the back brake fluid so it went to squidgy. These little Brevas’ can only swap paint with ZX636 & CB1000R for so long.
Yesterday, due to an incident with an overweight pillion,i had to replace the clutch lever. Conversation in Jim Allen’s shop went like this: Â ME-Needing a clutch lever for a 1200 sport mate.

She could problee also help you carry a freezer upstairs… LOL ..Â
Decided to start getting the bike sorted as it’s been off the road for long enough. So thought I’d have a go at the broken bolt that holds the battery plate on top of the gearbox. The bolt snapped below the surface years ago and after snapping an ‘easyout’ trying to get it out then, I gave up and left it as it was, there’s 3 more bolts holding it together and has never been a problem. Got the oxy/acetylene kit out and dusted off the mig welder, applied plenty of heat with the oxy kit and then welded a 10 mm nut onto the stud, apply spanner and shear the nut off again, after 6 goes at this I have to admit defeat and will now strip the box and find somewhere that can do spark erosion, so not the best day I’ve had. Â
Did a few jobs on the Daytona, and took her for a sneaky test ride. Forgot how light and grunty she is compared to my Ducati.
Right…am typing this for the 2nd time…due to this crap software… Jez…I hope you get it sorted…dont give up… Miko…yes…I can get freezers upstairs…I am a small stiff person…but I I always have a go… Today I met the John Maris run on me Guzzi…had some chip butties in company with some lovely people…and then attended a little local meet with Guy, Guzzibrat and Sutty…a grand day out…xÂ
