What did you do with your Guzzi today ? .......

£20,000??? Is the frame powder coated in gold leaf?

Not plate. Solid gold :open_mouth:
Be interesting to see what prices the bikes made.

Steve

Yeah I doubt it made the reserve!!

Still, perhaps I should get a better padlock for the bike shed!!!

Bike values are strange. Carole Nash agreed value on my scruffy loop is more than all 3 of our cars added together. Perhaps I’d better get a better lock too.

You’re right on bike values.
It’s the old story of “What it’ll fetch on the day” and depends on who is bidding.
Some interesting results from the auction. The V7 Sport didn’t go and nor did a very tidy Mille.
Have fun
Steve

That V7Sport has been up for sale twice so far this year. It’s an original Telaio Rosso which is quite sought after and more “collectable” than the later production models.

It may be that an “investor” has got caught out. Bonhams sold this actual bike in Feb 2015 for £32,430!!

Holy %^&*. :astonished:

Tried out my new toy (pressure washer) on the Stelvio yesterday. I was very gentle - perhaps too gentle, as I like a painted finish and greased suspension/bearings

Worked a treat, although to be fair it was already quite clean. Grabbed the keys to the wife’s Buell and went out on that instead, on the pretence of “just filling it up”…of course, I didn’t take the most direct route home

Jon

Certainly not. I flew back executive class on, er, Greasyjet. Incidentally I highly recommend flying on crutches. Get put in a wheelchair, whizzed past queues at immigration & customs, private elevator onto the plane, it’s a far better experience than the usual cattle truck flying. However the price is 5 weeks plastered and on crutches :frowning:

5 weeks plastered eh…jobs a good un…
Seriously…all the best Ivan…

Got my frame back from the powder coaters, looks great! Thanks for the advice, it would have looked rubbish after a wire brush and hammerite!

+1 Hope the recovery for self and bike goes well.
Steve

Finished changing the brake fluid in the linked brakes, and fitted the new panniers. I am quite pleased with the way they have turned out:

Looks fantastic :sunglasses:
Hoping to get a bit done on mine but won’t look anything like as good as that.
Steve

Thank you, sir! It has had it’s annual polish following the service, so looking its best (particularly when the sun is shining). It doesn’t look quite so good when you get up close, but I like it!

Sold the Cali :frowning:

But the Breva 1100 is shaping up nicely

I was derusting a side panel for my Ambassador project with a twisted wire wheel mounted on an angle grinder wearing a pair of latex gloves. Can you tell where this is going? Somehow whilst I was changing the angle of attack I felt a bang on the end of my left index finger. I switched off the angle grinder and inspected my digit. The transparent latex glove had turned a vivid shade of red down the finger of the glove encasing my index finger. On pulling the glove off I laid a trail of red splashes on the way to the kitchen, where I stuck my damaged digit under a running tap. I couldn’t see what I had done due to the flow of blood, so I sent Heather for some bog roll to mop it up. I stood there for a minute or two, wondering what sort of damage I had inflicted on myself. Upon removing the paper I found I had only torn up a jagged flap of skin and cut a groove in my finger nail. Phew, lucky escape! My finger nail could now be on the shed floor along with half of my finger tip!

When using an angle grinder don’t be tempted to neglect safety gloves and eye protection. They can bite!

Plasters encasing dodgy digit I returned to finish the job.

Feck! :open_mouth:

So this Ambassador has actually started drawing blood…

Just the sweat and tears to follow …

I have a pair of chain mail gauntlets designed for handling sheet steel, if you took all the grinder marks on them as lost digits I wouldn’t be giving anyone the vees anytime.

I visited mine in hospital AKA the Corsa Italiana workshop. Collected the bags she’d been carrying so now I’m cleaning the kit I was wearing at the time. F*ck me that Lithuanian road was muddy: I think there might be a clue to the cause of the skid there.

On the bright side the road scraped a nice hole in the arm of my Rukka jacket. That’s good cos it means the jacket stopped the road from scraping a big hole in me.

And a big Like for the Finebau Forge engine protectors that resulted in the motor remaining unmarked
