What did you do with your Guzzi today ? .......

Suddenly the Spada is nearly finished. Got it running today and once I’d fiddled with the carbs to get it balanced and idling nicely I had a little scoot down the village. Seems to pull well and no leaks or nasty noises. Just need to put the top fairing back on and tidy a few things up and maybe we’ll book an MOT for next Saturday.

Went out for milk and orange juice. Not as trepidatious as some other trips here  but nice bright day with blue bits, so took the X10 out the long way round to Tesco, via the fields. Bit breezy tho.

Good stuff!
See you Wednesday
Steve

Went along to catch up with the VMCC boys at the Founders Day sign in.
Slow start and then a fair few hardy souls ‘out for the ride’.
Astonishing bikes as ever and all well used.
Afternoon fettling and firkling with miscelaneous Guzzis

Well yesterday now, but rode it down to the Ace Cafe for Italian Bike day and basked in the sun surrounded by Italy’s finest.

Well…we washed the 2 that have been to Scotland…struggled with a recalcitrant brake light switch on one we are lending to a dear friend…whilst we wrestle with a problem on her bike…oh,…and got the head and barrel off me lads Husky enduro bike…which nipped up when he was leading his race…mind you…he pushed to the line and got second…piston is a bit secondhand tho… !

Good word recalcitrant … was one of my mother’s pet sayings … “Do you want an answer?” “No it’s alright I’m arguing with a recalcitrant object”

Bellagio passed its MoT no problem.
It wil need a new rear tyre soon.
I suspect that will be an on-going problem.

Short run around Cheshire A and b roads to reacquaint myself with the Mongrel following Guy and Kate’s ministrations.
50+ miles and never missed a beat.
Ready for a few more outings. Happy days
Steve

Joined an eclectic mix of people and bikes at the Bluebell for a warm evening of drinks and conversation.

Happy days

Removed wheels on V7 Stone for new tyres to be fitted. Scarily the bike is due its first MOT - where does the time go? Now taxed too.

There I am …avin me beer out of me Simpsons Talkin Beer Mug…courtesy the Clinkmeister…

Is my head really as bald as that?

Took the lil’Breva shopping.
Difficult to find neutral and lever almost back to the bar to disengage clutch.
Pull rubber back to check adjustment and only about 5 strands left intact.
Fix that Saturday so rode the Bella into work.

Bin riding my Convert this Spring, so far. Went to give my Eldorado her first go the other day and she wouldn’t start. Last night I checked spark and fuel and all seemed ok, so while I was tinkering I changed the fuel pipes, which were starting to crumle. Just in case, I had a peek into one of the carbs and changed the plugs but no joy, but I knew I had fuel and spark anyway. In the end I drained the tank and put some fresh fuel in the tank, and after running some through the carbs she started fine.
So today I will be going for a ride on Ellie, after I have done my chores.

The camera never lies!

Croly hap.

You have reminded me of breaking a clutch cable on my Triumph T140. I was in St Ives Cornwall at the time.

But fortunately I had a spare.

BUT, the lever end nipple had “disintegrated”, and closer inspection revealed that the entire thing was made entirely out of solder, done, rather cleverly must admit, in a mould … but still just what you would normally use to attach a proper solid metal nipple with… and the spare was the same… :open_mouth:

I broke the clutch cable on my loop just after I bought it. Trundled home in 3rd gear and switched it off as I rolled up the drive. Not sure it’d be possible on some other bikes.

In other news I’ve taken the thermal lining out of my jacket, so you can all blame me when it goes cold again.

Was it a prize by any chance?
Do tell

Trick of the light. Some sort of reflection from the canal?
