What did you do with your Guzzi today ? .......

Thank you Don-Spada!
Luckily it’s not the starter.
It seems it’s really the battery.
Strange because when bike did not start, it was after a 30-ish miles ride, so I thought battery was fully charged.
I was wrong, beacuse battery was completely flat!!!
I may need to get a new one because this one seems not to keep the charge: after 6 hours, unconnected, it’s lost about 10%.

Trouble is, it might catch on and then who KNOWS which tent you’ll end up in?

Went to the South Wales meet at the Rising Sun - mostly wet and blowy but great to get out again - and of course always a pleasure to see the guys and gals up there - a small but perfectly formed gathering!

Took out the V thou yesterday it started …then stopped within 30 secs, …started again then stopped, full tank

I got off, gave it a “speaking to!” Re started it…all good rode over to the Gym did that then took the long and round about way home all nice and sunny Spring type day

“Woke up this mornin’” grey dull cold and spitting wiv rain (oooh what a surprise) so …took the bike anyway, not quite as far only locally but hey it started first prod … nothing at all amiss …Guzzis doncha just sometimes have to shake yer head and enjoy the “Character!”

Replaced the schockers on rear of the cali, then after thumping my hand with a hammer gave up and sulked indoors

I set off for the VMCC bike jumble at Shepton Mallet. Fortunately I stopped for a cup of tea on the way and learned that it was yesterday. Oops. No matter I only wanted an excuse to go out.

I celebrated Maslenitsa [that’s pancake week to you] & Moscow breaking the zero degrees barrier by giving the Bella a damn good washing. Then by the time I’d finished and she was dry the temperature had dropped a couple of degrees and it was snowing. Balls

But the good news is that after a four month Russian hibernation she started first go

Good to hear from you Ivan, turbulent times in the land of my father…

Yesterday I washed the lil;Breva, well it’s MOT time next Saturday so it’s only good manners.

It’s annual bath

Pancake week, wow we only get a pancake day.

Finally saved up enough for a new front tyre and a rear hugger; dropped in to Twiggers to book the bike in and they fitted both items immediately. Seeing the tread on the new tyre made me realise how much the old one had worn (it was barely legal). Always surprised at how a new front tyre makes the rear ends feel better too; a slight tendency to white-line seems to have completely disappeared. Cleaned the bike and am hopeful it’ll dry before I have to put it in the garage.

Fired up the Blackbird in the absence of a working Guzzi. Christ what a mess. I bought the 'bird for cheap at the end of last summer just to have something to ride and not worry about, but having had the seat and tank off today I can see my week off is going to be filled by turning it into something that doesn’t make bystanders gag.On the plus side, a quick service revealed a dynojet kit and Hobbsport air filter, and the scabby rear shock has the unmistakeable purple hue of Maxton, so I reckon it’ll go a bit.Naturally it started very first touch - but then that’s why I bought it.

Fired the four Ambo followers off to Newman cams in Kent. All need ground followed by case or induction hardening as required. VERY reasonable at £9.50 each. Better than dubious aftermarket shots at £35 quid a pop…

If the Rita cover is made of ABS, then you can repair it with Plastic Weld.If it’s made of PP, then there is little you can do.

There was a bloke who used to repair Ritas but I cannot find him on google. An old club mag perhaps?Roy at OS Electrical?

you may mean

Roy at OSMC does stainless stuff

Dat’s the bunny.

Took Mrs Guzzirider’s V11 Sport out for a short spin, and then jumped on the banana bike and enjoyed the empty moorland roads.
