Great afternoon with the Staffies meet in the Staffordshire Moorlands. Great see people from Notts&Derby and Warwickshire branches there too. 20 Guzzis in one spot was a sight to see.
Another great day’s ride out on Sunday.
This time, two of us set off from Peterborough heading south east via Huntingdon, Cambridge, Five Mile Bottom, Haverhill, Halstead, Braintree to meet up with the Essex Branch meet.
What a lovely bunch of chaps and chapesses.
Nice beer too
First ride out for the Taverners section of the VMCC. My Spada was in the great company of Mike Bemrose and his wonderful Galleto
Tyre fitted at Loisirs Mekanic (sic) in nearby Lussac les Chateaux - 9.5 euro with new valve (I did take just the wheel and new tyre in mind).
I found the rear wheel surprisingly easy to get in and out, with the bike on the centrestand. Made much easier on re-fitting using the tip in the comments on ‘Mike’s Machines’ you tube channel video on this job.
She’s no fully ‘luggaged up’, and probably setting off southwards tomorrow…the road awaits.
Took the V11 for it’s MOT. Passed.
Took the V85 over to Market Deeping…to attend the South Lincolnshire branch meeting. What a warm welcome…lots of convivial banter and a very interesting evening…I am tempted to return…lt was a 250 mile round trip and as bad weather was forcast for Friday l elected to stay overnight at a very pleasant hotel in Market Deeping…Friday evening the temperatures dropped to well beliw zero and i woke to find a very white guzzi……
The photo depicts a lovely view as i entered the area and also illustrates my frustration with the on board 'navigation ’ system…you Know the one that just doesn’t work……l reverted to the age old tried and tested method of written instruction taped to the screen…doing so made me laugh out loud…all of the advanced technology available and all it does is spoil the enjoyment of a decent machine…
Sorry to have missed you (I was a little poorly and didn’t go).
Glad to hear you enjoyed the meeting and the round trip.
Hopefully see you another time.
Yes…another time eh…interesting to note my Guzzi was the only one in attendance…how wise given the plunge in temperatures as the night progressed !
Called at the “Monkey Pot” YO8 5LD
cafe today, fantastic bacon butty and good cup of tea everyone chatted and was made to feel welcome. Will be there again for sure, shuts at 2 most days and bike night is tuesdays when its open until the last bike leaves. Shut sundays sadly, but they have bikes and children too
Took my latest Stornello bike out for a potter around the local back lanes today. It ran remarkably well.
Good few days with the Staffies last week. Shropshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire with 12-20 Guzzisti per gathering.
Regular spot for members of Staffordshire and Notts&Derby branches👍
Grand Friday lunch with Staffies and friends.
Leisurely eating, basking in the sun and endless conversation.
Roads and traffic mostly kind.
Thanks to the HGV drivers who moved over to hasten progress
Good turnout at Fradley Junction today. Lots of other interesting biking activity to choose from and yet we still hit 20+ souls in attendance.
Had a 52 mile round trip on the Le Mans and joined up with the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride in Hull.
Had to burn the midnight oil to get the Guzzi running (finish fitting the new coils, rechecking the electronic ignition etc…
First decent ride on it in two years.
Feeling chuffed with it starting first time and not looking out part way🙂
Took the Spada over to Rugby Bike Fest on Sunday. Bumped into Bill from the Northants section.
